Why You Must Cut All Ties With Negative People Right Now…!!!

Don't let them get you down. That's right. If you can, going forward disassociate yourself with negative people. Friends and business partners with negative attitudes are often not worth having.

I stopped hanging out with negative people when I was in my 20s. It was hard to do because some of these people were friends of mine since pre school. It was a tough decision, but the right one for me in hindsight, kind of like your parents telling you not to hang out with people that take drugs.

How to identify a negative person

How can you tell if someone is harmful to you achieving your goals in business and in life? They are not always easy to spot. Sure there are people that will criticize you when you are successful or they will tell you that you can't succeed. These are the easy ones to spot.

Entrepenaurs ?

Rent the Runway's Jennifer Fleiss on Navigating the Funding Landscape

The tougher ones to spot are those that have a slightly condescending tone when speaking with you after you achieve a significant milestone in your life. They will also talk about you behind your back and try to pull in others to go against you, Which BTW ? Can be very Hurtful to hear. One of my favorite quotes is this: 'unjustified criticism is a disguised complement!' Wow - what a powerful statement; this makes me want to say 'bring it on doubters!'

Surround yourself with positive people that believe there are no limits to what they and you can achieve. Surround yourself with people that are incredibly successful as their success, confidence and positive outlook on business and life will rub off on you and vice versa.

I have never met a successful entrepreneur, investor or CEO that doesn't have a positive attitude. Richard Branson is the quintessential example of a positive role model. I believe that his cheerful and positive outlook in life and business is the primary reason for his incredible success.  His positive attitude is the cornerstone of the happy and positive corporate culture at all of his Virgin companies.

Try flying Virgin America or Virgin Atlantic or one day Virgin Galactic and observe how amazing the attitude is of all of his employees. A company with an incredibly positive corporate culture will no doubt be much more successful than a company filled with negative people. A negative person would never consider launching a galactic service or taking on the airline industry. Richard Branson clearly avoids hiring "those" people.

Negative friends who think its too late to be an Entrepenaur Are they right?

No darn way!  We are on the cusp of a biotech and healthcare renaissance were we will see the eradication of many diseases in the next few decades. I think most people alive today will live to be more than 100 if they take care of themselves. According to British rejuvenation research scientist Aubry de Grey, the first person to live to 150 years old is alive today!

The average age of people that start companies in the United States is 55! With this in mind, why would you want to consider retiring in your 50s or 60s when you have another 100 potential years? You are never too old to start a new career or start a new company. Anybody that thinks otherwise is guilty in my humble opinion of age discrimination. It doesn't matter how old or young you are, leverage your network and reinvent yourself over and over again until you find your passion!

You are never too old to start over. Successfully changing careers is based on having an unbelievably positive attitude. With this in mind, surround yourself with incredibly positive people and, if you must, understand that when others criticize you that unjustified criticism is nothing more than a disguised complement!

15 MOVIES & SERIES WORTH BINGE WATCHING THIS WEEK

We’re Several Weeks down in quarantine mode so I wanted to rounded up some of the movies and series worth binge watching. This exhaustive list should last you for the entire month!

Movies

Ford vs Ferrari – A perfect Hollywood flick that tells the story of Ford beating Ferrari’s legendary vehicles in the 1966 24-hour Le Mans race. It’s heart wrenching in unexpected ways but also inspiring. Plus, with Christian Bale as one of the key actors, I knew it wouldn’t fall short of amazing.

Knives Out – A murder mystery surrounding one wealthy family that’s witty, entertaining, and humorous. It keeps you on your toes and waiting for more since the story is so interesting. The fact that it’s rated PG-13 means its mostly family friendly so you can watch it with the gang for a movie night.

Midway – Finally, a movie that actually depicts Pearl Harbor the right way. I love a good war movie, and this one is one of the most accurate I’ve seen. I was surprised that there were so many poor reviews. I personally enjoyed the story of the soldiers and high-ranking officials involved in one of the most important battles of WWII.

Parasite – Here’s a movie that’s definitely not for the kids… This movie depicts the life of a poor family who manages to infiltrate the home of a much wealthier family. It hit on so many important themes from greed to social classes to family and more. As the story unravels, you’ll find yourself heartbroken, laughing, or in full suspense mode. It’s definitely one to watch as you’re quarantined at home.

Contagion – This movie is not new by any means, but I don’t think there’s a better time to watch it since we’re all locked up inside. It’s about an airborne virus that kills within days and the world struggles to find a cure (sound familiar?). It gives a very real depiction of what would happen today if this were to happen right now! Prepare yourselves!

John Wick – All action fans know that John Wick is one that never gets tiring. With each movie being better than the previous, it’s hard not to get addicted. The fighting scenes, whether hand to hand combat or full blown shoot outs, are one of the most realistic out there. I can’t wait for Part 4!

Sicario – Another action series that doesn’t disappoint. The movie tells the story of FBI operations in the US-Mexico drug war. I love how it’s fast-paced and takes you on a thrilling journey – definitely waiting for Part 3! Bob and My Favorite !!!!

Inception – I’ve been having very vivid dreams lately – and apparently I’m not the only one (more here). This all takes me back to the movie Inception, which shows how dreams can often feel so real that you can’t distinguish them from reality. What gets me about this movie is that I grasp something new about the plot every time I watch it.

The Farewell – Praised by the likes of Vogue and many more, I just had to see this movie. It follows a Chinese family who discovers that their Grandmother has been diagnosed with cancer and only has short time to live. The family decides to hide the truth from her as the grand daughter (played by Awkwafina) struggles with complicated cultural dynamics.

Secret Life of Pets 2 – It’s not every day that I come across a kid-friendly movie that I actually love, but I thought The Secret Life of Pets 2 was brilliant. It takes you (and the kids) on a super cute adventure of pets solving their problems and overcoming fears. I won’t say too much here because then you’ll know exactly what to expect from the movie!

HOW TO STAY PRODUCTIVE WHEN YOU’RE QUARANTINED

If you’re not sure how to stay productive while quarantined, try journaling and meditating, planning your content calendar, filming a makeup tutorial, and more…

Hey guys! I hope you’re staying safe out there, and taking the social distancing measures seriously because it’s better to be safe than sorry. I’ve spend the past several weeks at home, which is so rare considering I’m usually always on the go. It’s been a nice change of pace, but I have to be honest, the first few Days of Quarantine left me wondering what to do with myself, Now that we’re getting into a rhythm and routine, it’s gotten easier to keep myself occupied with things that actually matter. If you’re not sure how to stay productive while quarantined, here are some activities you can get started on now.

Take a break from social media & the news

The quickest way to not be productive is staying glued to your phone and the news. We all want to stay updated and informed during a crisis like this, especially as things change so rapidly, but try checking in a few times a day rather than keeping the news on all day. Plus, it only exacerbates stress. So, first things first, log off.

Learn something new

If you’ve ever wanted to start a new hobby or learn something completely out of your comfort zone, now is the time! My blogger girls, maybe you can spruce up your photographer knowledge I have been learning More about that.. Or if you don’t have a blog yet but always wanted one ? Go for it. Learning goes beyond that – you can learn how to play an instrument, calligraphy, or even coding! Whatever it is, you’ll certainly stay productive for hours on end!

Start a new book

Every year, one of my resolutions is to read more books, and I’ll be honest that I rarely reach the number I strive to hit (one a month). Now that I’m finally home, reading is becoming a priority and it’s so relaxing. Whether you’re more of an adventure reader and love fiction – or prefer self-help books that will propel your career, reading is a great way to use your time if you’re not sure how to stay productive. (Here are some really good ones herehere, and here.)

Work out at home

Being a Barre and Zumba Instructor Besides A Dance Instructor, I can use all the endorphins I can get. exercising is a proven way to alleviate stress and induce relaxation. You don’t need much to get started either – just some workout bands, disc sliders, dumbells, and a mat.

Try meditation & journaling

I’m sure you’ve been told for years now that Meditation and Journaling is great for your mental and emotional health. Though I try to get in a routine, it’s hard to make it stick. With more free time than usual, this is the perfect opportunity to reset your morning and/or evening routine. Journal about the things you’re grateful for, especially as we’re all going through hard times. Set the timer on your phone for just 10 minutes to close your eyes and breathe. (This book is a wonderful guide to get started on meditating.)

Rack up the blog content

As a blogger myself, creating consistent blog content is the biggest struggle! Working on a backlog of posts and planning ahead on your content calendar is surefire way to stay productive right now. If you can’t go out to shoot any outdoor content because of Quarantine ? perhaps you can film a YouTube or IGTV video – or even work on some makeup and hair tutorials. What would you guys like to see from me?

DIY Skincare

I love making my own face masks, You don’t need a ton of things to get started either. Some of my favorite face masks include  yogurt + honey + turmeric and banana + milk + oatmeal. Simply mix everything together and let it sit on your face for 20 minutes.

You can also experiment with body scrubs. Brown sugar and coconut oil are a classic mix. You can throw some essential oils into the mix if you have them handy. Another combo I love is coffee and coconut oil. Coffee is known for its ability to reduce cellulite – and it smells amazing! You can even put them into little jars and give them as gifts!

Clean your makeup brushes

I love makeup but cleaning my brushes can be a tedious process! Take a few minutes out of the day to clean those brushes. You can make your own at-home solution using antibacterial soap and some extra virgin olive oil – or you can use this natural brush cleanser. These silicone mats really help get the grime out of my brushes. Once you’re finished, wipe down all the handles of your brushes with antibacterial wipes.

Learn a new makeup look

Now that you have clean makeup brushes, perhaps now is the time to learn a new look! I’ve been binging on IGTV and YouTube makeup tutorials from artists I love. If you need some new gurus to watch, I highly recommend Amy Conway – her tutorials are simple and quick but beautiful! can’t wait to try out some of her looks in the summer!

Also, FYI, in case you’re interested, Ulta is still running their 21 days of beauty even where a great deal is revealed daily! It’s worth checking out especially if you’re running low on supply. Today only, you can save 50% off the Juice Beauty serumArcona Wine Oil, and Personal Cosmetics lip gloss.
